Care4Calais is a volunteer-run charity delivering essential aid and support to refugees living in Northern France, Belgium and now in the UK. We believe in a fair and tolerant British society and advocate for a welcoming and inclusive attitude towards refugees. Our aim is to help as many refugees as possible - there are now nearly 10,000 asylum seekers in hotels and barracks around the UK, all in need of support and friendship. Asylum seekers can seek refuge in the UK for multiple reasons such as fleeing wars or persecution, trying to find a better life, coming to be with family (there are lots of reasons). They are also coming from many different countries with some asylum seekers having money, and some having nothing at all. 

As a group, we provide support to people in desperate need. This could include clothing, food parcels, phones and providing signposts to other support networks (other organisations/charities/doctors/dentists in their area). We also provide social support and interaction, including language lessons and sports (depending on the area). We are not politicians; we are ordinary people like you who believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. We operate all year round, activities in different locations around Croydon.
