Digital Skills: CALAT Digital Skills department offers a range of courses from beginner level up to Level 2, whether you want to build skills for work or simply feel more confident using computers and the internet.
Courses are held in CALAT’s dedicated digital skills suites, with small groups of up to 12 learners. You’ll be supported throughout by a qualified digital skills trainer in a safe, welcoming learning environment.
Courses run once a week and vary in length from 3 to 12 weeks. As the skills are taught step by step, it’s important that you attend all sessions to ensure steady progress and successful completion of the course.
We offer Entry Level 3 and Level 1 OCN Essential Digital Skills qualifications. These courses are completely free for anyone without an existing digital qualification, including those currently in work.
We also run a variety of non-accredited courses, which are a great way to build confidence with digital technology without the pressure of formal exams. These are FREE f you’re on a low income or receiving qualifying benefits.
Our course offer is regularly updated. Recent additions include Data Analysis, Digital Marketing, and AI, ideal for those looking to improve job prospects or grow and promote their own business. For more information

English and Maths We offer English and maths courses from beginner up to GCSE level. It’s free to study for most learners over 19. All of our English and Maths courses are free to learners with the right to residence in the UK, including asylum-seekers. Please bring passport or residence permit / Home Office papers as proof of eligibility.
Please note that you must be 19+ and not on a student visa / overseas student.

GCSE English & maths
Who are these courses for?
These GCSE courses are completely FREE to all eligible students (apart from learners under 19s and overseas students). There is no exam fee. You must be 19+ and not enrolled elsewhere to take a L2 qualification, you must also not have a previously passed GCSE.
* Both English and maths GCSE courses begin in September 2026
