Telephone Befriending Service

Croydon Voluntary Action, Volunteer Centre

CVA's Telephone Befriending service is there to support individuals living within the London Borough of Croydon.

Our Volunteer Befrienders provide telephone support for those who may be experiencing anxiety and or social isolation.


Our project aims are to reduce the feeling of isolation and help the individual connect with others in their community. In order to access this service individuals MUST meet the following criteria:

Live in the London Borough of Croydon

Self-referred or agreed to be referred to the service


Who is this project NOT suitable for

An individual who does not want to engage with the service

People who have significant mental health conditions or drug/alcohol dependency that is not being managed or where the individual has refused support from services.

Individuals with severe, complex mental health issues
