If you are disabled, driving can seem a daunting prospect. We are specialists in all aspects of driving for disabled people, with expert assessors and instructors backed by specialist technology.
We have a wide variety of specially adapted dual-controlled cars fitted with hand controls and left foot accelerators, swivel seat and hi-tech vehicles that can be driven from a wheelchair. Our service is fully equipped to facilitate driving for disabled people and provide adaptations accordingly.
Disabled driving training and adaptations
A Driving Assessment is recommended for those who:
have a medical condition such as stroke, dementia, head injury, epilepsy or other neurological condition;
have psychological difficulty, physical disability or visual impairment;
are a provisional licence holder or are seeking a provisional licence
We can assess and advise you on disabled driving training and adaptations. We handle a wide variety of disabled driving conditions, including deafness, recovery from a brain injury, adapting to a stroke or conditions such as multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy.
Please allow 3-4 hours for a standard driving assessment as this is dependant on the individual’s requirements. For people with more complex requirements, a Hi-Tech assessment may be more appropriate which usually takes about 6 hours.
Self-referring private individuals, can access a subsidised assessment at a fee of £325 for a standard assessment and £470 for a Hi-Tech assessment. Please download our individual application form.
