Guides is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can have fun, learn and be yourself with good friends from 10 to 14 years old.
Guides is a place where you can explore the things you love and do stuff you’ve never done before. Where else can you think up a new sport, make a new perfume, cook over a campfire, design an advertising campaign, have a mocktail party or raise money for a charity you believe in? At Guides, you can do all of this and loads more.
What do girls do in Guides?
Wondering what Guides get up to? We’ll let them show you...
Guides follow our programme. Around 60% of what girls do in regular unit meetings (local groups where Guides meet) is our programme. It’s created with girls and full of fun, adventure and variety. Our programme for Guides encourages you to be supportive and imaginative. You’ll explore and celebrate your individual passions!
I like doing badges, because I get to explore my interests. I get to pick what I do and get badges for things I like the most!
In unit meetings, you’ll do fun activities, play games and earn skills builder badges, all while being supported by our trained volunteers who give up their time for free.
You could get skills builder badges in themes such as camping, communication and first aid. And if you want to take guiding home, there’s lots of interest badges to do , like the craftivism badge, fixing badge and whittling badge.
