Domestic Abuse Support: Engaging and supporting perpetrators in behavioural change (V&A)

RISE Mutual

The Drive Project is a programme works with people one-on-one to form an individualised plan to look at forming healthy relationships. One-on-one sessions with case managers offer a non-judgmental space for discussion. The aim of Drive is to help individuals live their lives in healthy and respectful ways. It is also about helping individuals to be better parents, and have better and healthier future relationships.

Drive believes domestic abuse is not acceptable, or inevitable and advocates for changes to national systems so that perpetrators posing all levels of risk are held accountable for their abusive behaviour and can access the help they need to stop.

Drive works in partnership with local organisations to provide case manager meetings. We also work with other agencies such as children's social care, public health, or probation to meet the needs of service users.

The aims of Drive:

  • To reduce the number of repeat and new victims
  • To reduce the harm caused to victims and children
  • To reduce the number of serial perpetrators of domestic abuse
  • To intervene earlier to protect families living with domestic abuse
