The Household Support Fund (HSP) can help if you are facing hardship or emergency, including struggling to pay bills or afford food. It is a one-off award that could help to buy food, gas, and electricity.
The scheme provides support, such as vouchers, wherever possible, rather than cash grants.
We can help your household meet living costs through:
food vouchers, gas or electric payments, water bills, white goods such as: fridge-freezer or under counter fridge and Microwave, gas or electric cooker and bedding.
You can only use the fund for one household item or white goods.
Who can apply: To be eligible for this fund, you must live in Croydon and be over 18 years of age
Supporting evidence: You will need to provide evidence to help us assess your application.
Food: If you are applying for food vouchers, you will need to provide:
a mini bank statement showing your current balance (this can be a mini statement from a cash machine)
Emergency gas or electric top-up: If you are applying for an emergency fuel top-up, you will need to provide:
a mini bank statement showing your current balance (this can be a mini statement from a cash machine)
when you will receive your next universal credit or wage payment
Gas, electric, or water bills: If you are applying for help with your gas, electric, or water bills, you will need to provide: one month's bank statement, one month's proof of income your most recent bill(s)
Household items: If you are applying for help to buy household items, you will need to provide:
one month's bank statement and one month's proof of income
