Family Counselling is a focused way to tackle specific relationship issues within a family group — whoever this group consists of. It could be a small group of family members or a much larger group. Family members may include parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, or blended families. In short, it can support any type of family dynamic. Families will be seen in different dynamics and not always all together.
Some families come to counselling at key transition points or after major life events, such as:
Adjusting to separation, divorce, or new family structures
Parenting challenges, including raising teenagers
Coping with bereavement or illness
Blending families and step-parenting
Preparing for or adapting to big life changes
Improving communication
